Jim,

Sorry to say that I have not read your book or seen your DVD. The change of direction work was taught to me by my former boss and is quite effective. He learned it from a former boss of his probably 15 years ago or so. It is nice to see you are on the same page as we are. Maybe if we traced our sourced back we would find a common denominator.

I would like to invite you to write something up for the site if you wish.

You can shoot me an email at evolutionaryathletics@gmail.com

Alex, have you read my book Speed & Agility Revolution or my Agility Revolution DVD? I put them out several years ago and they both break down everything you're talking about...exactly. I spoke about this exacty topic at the NSCA national conference a few years back and broke down agility mechanics. People didn't seem to want to talk much about it then, but now everyone wants to discuss it and teach agility mechanics. Glad to see you're on board.

Brandon,

Unfortunately I am unfamiliar with Yessis explosive basketball book. Honestly I am not much of a Yessis fan. WGF does not have an agility dvd but if you take their speed principles and flip them upside down you create the exact recipe we use to teach stopping and turning. So we use their methods for speed and the opposite methods for agility (glutes hams for acceleration, quads for deceleration) and try to work in balance with each other so that the athlete can still fully extend their hip at toe off but has enough quad strength to stop on a dime.

I would think that they would like what we are doing.

Hello,

What do you think of Yessis' take on agility(explosive
basketball)? Does WGF have a DVD on agility? If they do how does this compare with their concept?
